Mission of Holy Family University’s Department of Athletics
Holy Family University’s department of athletics main purpose is to offer a wide array of program opportunities for male and female student-athletes. It is our goal to assist in developing student-athletes to optimally utilize their skills and talents. It is a continual process designed to enrich student-athletes with the knowledge and ability to develop and improve basic skills to function responsibly in the university community and society. Our efforts include monitoring their academic and athletic process.
Holy Family University if also committed to provide an environment for their administrative and coaching staff to develop professionally and personally. The commitment extends beyond the confines of the athletic department. The University promotes a shared experience with the university community, alumni and individuals that help to create a lifelong relationship between these groups and the University.
Philosophy of Intercollegiate Athletics
The philosophy of Holy Family University’s department of athletics is to afford all men and women participants’ equitable opportunity, promote sportsmanship, uphold moral principles and nurture character, integrity and personal responsibility. Holy Family University adheres to the principles of fair play and amateur athletic competition defined by the NCAA.
It is the intent of the athletic department to develop student-athletes who embrace and model the mission statement of Holy Family University. The department is dedicated to the idea that success in intercollegiate athletics must be accompanied within the parameters of and complementary to the academic arena in pursuit of educational excellence. The program in committed to the unquestioned integrity of athletics that is expected to foster the core values associated with Holy Family University. A pro-active of interaction between administrators, staff and athletes is the basis of a holistic approach that is adapted to the development of the mind, body and spirit of every Holy Family University student-athlete.
